Title Characteristics of Style Memory Game Benchmarks G-1B-M4 describing and explaining how personal interests, culture, and technology affect peoples perceptions and uses of places and regions H-1A-M3 analyzing the impact that specific individuals, ideas, events, and decisions had on the course of history H-1D-M1 describing the contributions of people, events, movements, and ideas that have been significant in the history of Louisiana Time 30 minutes Materials 24 blank index cards for each student (1 each for 12 characteristics and 1 each for 12 student-drawn pictures) PowerPoint or Overhead Transparencies Objective Identify style characteristics of Victorian homes Procedure Go through the pictures of Victorian homes in the PowerPoint presentation or Overhead Transparencies in the order below. While going through the images write the words on the board and draw simple pictures of the style characteristics of Victorian homes. Students will be doing this on their index cards (one card for the word and one for its picture match). Gothic Revival 1. Image 1 Steeply pitched roofs 2. Image 2 Buttress for support 3.
